Frequently Asked Questions
Where are Fairytale Teas hosted?
Fairytale Teas are all-inclusive affairs brought to your home. We will set up and clean up everything needed for the party.
Can more than one child host a Fairytale Tea?
Yes, more than one child can host a Fairytale Tea. There is only a $15 charge to cover the cost of the additional hostess gift.
How long is a Fairytale Tea?
Most Fairytale Teas run 1.5 to 2 hours. However, the length of your party depends on the party package you choose and the age of the children.
How do I book a Fairytale Tea?
How far in advance do I need to book?
We would suggest calling at least 3-4 weeks in advance. Fairytale Teas may be booked with less notice, but available times may be limited.
Are invitations included?
Customized invitations are included. They are personalized and theme coordinated. You supply us with the guest list, and we send out the invitations or we can send you the invitations to distribute. Invitations cannot be printed until your deposit has been received.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time we accept cash, checks and money orders.
Is there a deposit?
As soon as you schedule a date, we will hold the spot for 7 days until we receive your signed contract and $100.00 non-refundable deposit. The deposit goes towards your balance. The balance must be paid by the day of the party before the party begins.
What happens if I have to cancel my Fairytale Tea?
Once a deposit has been paid, Fairytale Teas may only be postponed. We will gladly work with you to find an alternate Fairytale Tea date for your consideration, based on availability. If you choose to cancel our services for any reason, your deposit is non-refundable.
**Should it be necessary to re-send invitations, an additional charge applies.**
When do you need the final R.S.V.P. count?
You will need to contact us at least 4 days prior to your Fairytale Tea to review the R.S.V.P.’s that have been received, and to determine the exact headcount for your Fairytale Tea. This will be the number we use to plan for your tea so that you will be charged accordingly.
What happens if a guest has food allergies?
It will be your responsibility to check for food allergies. Should any of your guests have food allergies, we will try our best to accommodate. If a guest should have severe allergies, we recommend that either you or the child’s parent provide an alternate menu for that child.
Do adults stay during the Fairytale Tea?
Parents are always welcome to stay and enjoy the affair.
Can siblings of the guests stay?
Please remember that our events cover only your child and their guests. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate unexpected guests or siblings of guests, as parties are prepared based on the final headcount given to prior to the party. Siblings, who are not guests of the birthday child, will not be permitted to use any Fairytale Tea equipment.
What happens if guests arrive late?
Because parties are based on a schedule, they work best when all guests arrive on time. Those guests arriving late may join the party where it is in progress.
What do I need to do for the Fairytale Tea?
- Provide an area for dress-up, activities and eating.
- Provide a gathering area for parents of the guests who wish to stay.
- Leave some space to park in you driveway which will not be blocked as there are heavy items to be carried in to the party.
What if there is inclement weather?
In the event of severe weather, Fairytale Teas reserves the right to reschedule the party. Most parties can go on as scheduled indoors if it is a rainy day. Please have a back up plan for outdoor parties.
If a child doesn't show up, do I still pay for that child?
Yes, your final R.S.V.P. count determines the price for your party, not the number of children that show up. Crafts and favors are prepared based on this count. You may keep the party favors for any no-shows. If a child chooses not to participate during the party, you are still charged for your final count.
What is the minimum and maximum number of children?
Our packages have a minimum number of eight children, including the birthday child. Fairytale Teas smaller than eight will still be charged for eight children. To provide our best services for an in-home Fairytale Tea, we recommend between 8-12 guests, but can accommodate larger groups with certain restrictions. An assistant's fee of $40 will be charged for groups over 14. Another assistant will be added for Fairytale Teas over 16 guests.
Each additional child above twelve will cost $25.00 per child.
What happens if a child does not want to participate or becomes disruptive?
The Fiarytale Tea Hostess is responsible for the flow of the party and activities. We kindly ask that you monitor disruptive behavior and attend to any child who does not want to participate. This will help us to provide the best possible party for you, your child and your guests.
Should the children be dressed in anything specific?
Our Fairytale Teas include costumes/dress up. The children do not get undressed, and we ask that the girls come prepared wearing shorts, tank tops or leotards to wear under clothes. Boys wear costumes over their clothes.
Does an adult need to stay at the Fairytale Tea?
We ask that the 1 parent or guardian of the birthday child please stay for the duration of the Fairytale Tea to attend to possible needs of the children. The parents of guests are welcome to stay and enjoy the fun.
